Women Are Dominating Modest Fashion, But Some Men Are Making Waves Too

Unless you’ve have been living on a deserted island for the past few years, you’ll know that modest fashion has taken the mainstream fashion world by storm.

With the meteoric rise of labels like Saudi Arabia’s Bow Boutique, L.A.’s WUKOgals, Italian modest wear brand Luya Moda, Al Nisa Designs from America and Brunei-based Chantique, models and brands alike are falling over themselves to get involved. It’s no wonder that Milan Fashion Week is now hosting a party dedicated to modest fashion.

This increased interest in modest fashion has come accompanied by a tsunami of new Muslim fashion bloggers and designers. Plus, more importantly, a more diverse representation of Muslims in fashion.

Whilst the world of fashion is often dominated by women, there are many fashion-conscious Muslim men too. Anyone who’s ever been to Dubai will attest to that. Despite the fact that the ladies are dominating the industry right now, there are plenty of Muslim men around.

Here are a few emerging male modest fashionistas that we’d recommend keeping an eye on right now.

Zaahid

Fashion consultant and blogger, Zaahid is unique in his approach to his work. He brings a contemporary mix of style and modesty, creating the perfect equilibrium between adhering to the Islamic guidelines of men’s modesty and looking mighty fine.

Abdul

Quirky and distinctive, this creative is far from your usual fashion blogger. Abdul is certainly the edgiest kid on the block right now; his style is oh so fresh. Experimental and creative with his outfits, he pairs pieces you just, let’s face it, wouldn’t think to. And probably wouldn’t pull off if you did. For this creative it’s simple, “fashion sends out a message without you having to use a word” and that’s the real beauty.

Nour

Bold colours. Loud prints. Transient style. Nour doesn’t miss a trick when it comes to modest fashion. He’s the epitome of dapper in his never-ending array of suits; he’s presumably the guy who looks the best in all the wedding pics. As you scroll through his feed, you’ll soon realise that he has all the suits. All the suits. (Are we giving the suits all the attention that they deserve?)

We don’t know about you, but we could certainly pick up a few style tips from these people. If you’re reading, guys, please send us stylish things! Check out these trendsetters on the Gram: @prince_Nourio, @Zaahidma and @aqofficial.
