As you know because you read Ummahsonic day and night, Muslims across the globe started their Eid-al Adha celebrations last Friday. They take place every year during Hajj – the holy pilgrimage. Marking the sacrifices made to God, it’s the World Cup of celebrations in the Islamic calendar and all Muslims get involved.

We’ve already shown you the freshest Eid-al Adha outfits that Muslims have been seen wearing this year and some pics of the global celebrations. But we can’t ignore places closer to home, right? So, here: Some pics from Eid-al Adha celebrations across the UK.

Muslims gathered on Small Heath Park in Birmingham to kick off the celebrations.

Eid al-Adha prayers also took place at Green Lane Masjid in Birmingham.

Some worshippers at this mosque in Leicester had to perform their Eid al-Adha prayers outside as it was so busy.

In Belfast, more than 1,000 Muslims gathered in a disused DIY shop to celebrate.

The congregation of Luton Islamic Centre were enjoying the sun during the celebration.

Some Muslims in London were relaxing on Burgess Park, Southwark during the celebrations.

One of the world’s most famous celebrity couples – Zayn Malik and Gigi Hadid – decided to celebrate Eid al-Adha with both their mums.

Amir Khan, former light-welterweight world boxing champion, also spent the special time with his family.

The Islamic Centre of England was packed out as Muslims from across the country flocked to the building to perform prayers.

The sun was out in Bradford too as Muslims converged on a park with a mosque on one side and a church on the other.

And there wasn’t even one cloud in the sky in Enfield…

Wherever you are spending the remainder of this special time, Ummahsonic wishes Eid Mubarak to you all.
