A lad from Bolton is searching for the taxi driver who returned his wallet after a night out in Manchester.
Josh Blair had been out celebrating his 25th birthday in the city centre earlier this month. After their sesh came to a close, they hopped in a minibus at the cab rank near giant indoor/outdoor super mall, Printworks,
On the ride back to Bolton (Heaton, to be specific) Josh unwittingly dropped his wallet in the cab. The fact he didn’t notice until the next morning suggests one of his friends covered the fare, which was nice of them. Then again, it was his birthday.
Whatever, that’s not the issue. Josh had no wallet. A week later he received a recorded delivery in the post. It was the wallet, with all the cards and cash still inside. There was also a note.

In case the image isn’t loading (hey it could happen), the note reads:
‘I am a Muslim taxi driver. I dropped you and your friend in Bolton and I found your wallet in my car I am now sending it back to you. I found £70 in it and I have only used a few pounds for this postage.’
While heartening to witness such a gesture of goodwill, the note raises an important question: How does someone go out to celebrate their 25th in Manchester and return home with £70 cash? Are we dealing with Pablo Escobar here? Does Josh hit the club, Money Mayweather style, with at least 80 racks cash? Maybe we’ll never know.
And in all honesty, it’s not important. What we must do now is locate this driver so Josh can express his gratitude in person.
As Josh told The Bolton News: ‘I didn’t really believe it at first, it’s kind of made my year to be honest. It’s unbelievable.’
Do you know this cab driver? Can you put Josh in contact with them? Do you ever return from a night on the town with £70 still in your wallet.
Let us know.
