Harris J Answers YOUR Questions!

You asked, he answered. This Wednesday on the Ummahsonic podcast, Harris J will be talking about his career, and answering your questions from Twitter. To whet your appetite, here’s a selection of his answers below…

@Zaynab229 asks: “What do you do when you’re feeling down?”

“There are a couple of things I like to do – I’ve always been big on sports, I play a lot of football. So I’ve got a couple of parks nearby where I usually just go and play some football with my friends. Or, I’ll watch a comedy on T.V. – I’ve always been into Friends and Fresh Prince Of Bel Air, so they usually pick me back up.”
@kingharrisj asks: “Who is someone you look up to when you’re in difficult times?”

“I’m very blessed to have a very supportive family around me – and friends as well – my friends all live close by to me, and so do all of my cousins. I look up to a lot of people really, but of course I’ve got to say my parents, as they’re always there when I need them.”

@Amrakhan_79 asks: “When will you start working on your next album?”

“My next album? The first one’s only just come out! Hopefully it’s going to be some time late next year, but yeah this album’s only just come out so we’re going to push this one for a while and then see what happens.”

@a_khxnx asks: “What is the song you’ve enjoyed working on the most?”

“Ermmmmm (thinks for a long time) – there’s a couple of my favourites; the two about my parents are quite close to me, I like them both. Let Me Breathe is sort of along the lines of rebellious, it’s got good hidden meaning. But I think my favourite song is I Promise, because it’s probably the most emotional song on the album – it’s the one I most enjoy singing.”

@masumaaa_ asks: “What are your plans for the future besides your music career?”

“So I went to the BRIT school, which is a performing arts school, and so I didn’t only do singing, I did acting as well. I’ve always been quite keen on acting, I started acting around the same time I started singing – so I’d definitely like to do some acting in the future.

@kubram46 asks: “Which is your favourite country to visit?”

“I haven’t been to that many places yet! But South Africa was beautiful; I’ve always loved Portugal…but I’m excited to travel and see some more.”

@mulum14 asks: “If you weren’t a singer, what would you be?”

“Until about three years ago, when I got injured, I was hopefully going to be a footballer! I was playing for Chelsea in the Academy, so it would probably be that!”

@MariamAbdou2 asks: “How do you spend your free time?”

“I think just do what normal teenagers do really, go out with my friends – I’m out of school at the moment so I haven’t got any work to do! But always do your homework…then it’s just going out with friends and having a good time.”

Don’t forget, you can hear loads more from Harris J on Wednesday, 6pm U.K. time here. Plus you can check out our most recent podcast, on Black History Month.
