Gigi Hadid Shuts Down Islamophobic Twitter Blowhard After NYC Attack

We are very pleased to tell you that we’re here to shout out one of our fave mega famous Palestinian- Americans supermodels, Gigi Hadid. Here’s why: Following this week’s awful terror attack in New York City, the usual gaggle of online bigots jumped on the tragedy in order to push their own hateful agenda, but our girl Gigi wasn’t having any of it.

One of these people was Laura Loomer, a self-styled ‘Investigative Journalist’. Mere hours (about 24 hours) after the attack, Laura hightailed it to the scene of the crime with the intention of grabbing a groundbreaking scoop.

While there, she snapped a photo of two Muslim women, both in hijabs, going about their lives by, ya know, walking down the street like everyone else. She posted the pic with the caption: ‘Muslims are out in full force at the scene of the NYC #ISIS attack today rubbing it in everyone’s face. Aimlessly walking around in hijabs.’

We’d love to offer a devastating takedown of Laura’s bigoted words, but instead, we’ll let the response of Gigi do all the talking for us. Well, we’ll let her do all the talking for any right-minded and decent person, because she located the nail and hit it square on the head with this reply to Laura’s tweet:

Now, that’s how you call out a bad person and their terrible opinions. Gigi’s Twitter-clapback demonstrates the importance of calling out hatred for what it is, especially in an era when people have a pretty bad habit of simply believing everything they read online.

Thanks for saying what we’re all thinking, Gigi. We know her feelings are shared by the vast majority of New Yorkers, who are in our thoughts during this difficult time.
