Over the past few weeks you guys, our amazingly talented super-cool readers, have been hitting us up on Facebook with names of young Muslim artists that we should feature on Ummahsonic for this series. They’ve been coming in thick and fast, and your efforts to put the best people forward have made this series the borderline internet colossus that it is. So thanks.
Better still, a lot of people are starting to slide the suggestions directly into our DMs on Instagram which, in terms of time and effort, certainly saves our thumbs about two or three clicks (by the way, if you don’t yet follow the Ummahsonic Instagram, GIVE THAT FOLLOW BUTTON A SMASH PLEASE).
This is how we were alerted to the talents of Farwa Moledina. Farwa is a fine art student in Birmingham who creates immersive, soulful portraits and mixed-media prints. As much as we love her work (which is a lot), we’re having loads of fun scrolling through her Instagram as it does so well to reveal her creative process.
Farwa often posts pics of her work at different stages, meaning you see it grow through every outline and texture and brushstroke.
These are some of our favourite uploads of Farwa’s:
Unsurprisingly, her finished projects are also really good. If you’re looking to cop a Farwa Moledina original, be sure to head over to her Etsy page.
In the meantime, head to IG and hit that follow button on her page.
Not that we want to sound like a broken record, but keep sending us the artist tips on Facebook and Instagram. Were it not for all you excellent readers offering us the good word, we might never discover extremely talented young Muslim artists like Farwa.
See you next time.
